Welcome to My Crib

Kelly is hosting "Show us where you live Friday - Living Rooms!" I didn't do the Kitchen tour last week. But go check it out - what fun to see everyone's great homes and get decorating ideas.

Here is our main living room... I know I have animals on the walls. Remember, I'm married to Grizzly Adams. This is the view from the loft.

Our kitchen and living room is open together which was what we wanted when we were looking for a home. Yes, that is a fish on the far wall. I have 3 boys, cut me some slack.

This is the view when coming in the front door.

and looking from the corner of the living room - those stairs go up to the loft, my scrapbooking room. No boys allowed!

This is the living area in our basement, where the boys hang out. We were able to buy the pool table for a LOW price when we moved in. I think the owners didn't want to mess with moving it.

That's pretty much it - thanks for stopping by!!! Have a blessed weekend!

My Loves in April

1. Heath hit his first home run ever. I wasn't at the game. No mother of the year award for
me...again.

2. Administrative Assistant's Day. Lunch at Olive Garden and some rockin' mixing bowls from
Williams Sonoma, AND a decadent brownie mix. Love. Love. Love.

3. Having my nephews over for a few hours. What's two more boys?

4. Creating. My nephews wedding shower invite.

5. Projects. Don't worry, I saved the picture of Jesus and will do something else with it. But for frame......
I'm obsessed with chalkboard paint. I painted the frame first with a cream color and then added little stain to it to give it some "aging". Then I just painted over the glass with chalkboard paint. I see more chalkboards in my future!!God is good, have a great May!!

MY LOVES IN MARCH

I know we're half way through April, but give a mom a break!

These are my "loves" about March:
1. Retreat with my FBC ladies at a beautiful ranch - ah peacefulness!

2. 16 Years with my man and he still makes my heart skip a beat, he still brings me peanut

M&M's when he senses I've had a bad day.

3. Spring Break - no getaway, oh but how I loved staying home and painting my bedroom,

bathroom and kitchen - heaven! Can you tell I'm a messy painter??

4. Listening to my boys pray - Oh How I love my men!

5. My man taking the boys fishing several times even when I'm sure he would have loved some time to himself.......he takes them every time he goes and never complains.

6. And......

My nephew's wedding.........so sweet!

April has a lot of loves too, which I'll post at the end of the month, but for now, I'll post something I put together on Friday. We were having some friends over after the Good Friday service at our church and I wanted something to put on the table besides bunnies. (Eventhough I love my bunnies!)

So I downloaded this image off the internet, put a flower on it and framed it. He is Risen!!

Have a blessed week!

Goin to the Chapel....

My nephew Joel is getting married next month. I used to change his diapers. Nuff Said. Anyway, I'm going to a shower today for his sweet future bride Heather, and the gift is ready, but I realized this morning I didn't have a card! So......
This is the cover (and their initials)....
.....and this is the inside.............

Not bad for OLD Aunt Michele..................have a blessed day!

Happy Valentines Day, here's your raccoon trap.

My husband called me the other day with big news.
"I know what to get the boys for valentines day!"
(I didn't realize we got them valentines presents, because
I thought it was sort of all about ME on valentines, but this year....is different.)
"Okay," I said, "What can we get them?"
"Raccoon Traps."
I mean seriously? Raccoon traps. Why? I ask, why?
"So they can catch raccoons." He responded.
(I think I heard the word "duh!" in his voice somewhere).
Okay, so we will get our 3 boys raccoon traps for valentines day and
I'm sure that they will be thrilled beyond belief. (I do mean that seriously.)
It reminds me of a phrase my sweet Nona used to say in her thick Italian accent when nothing made sense to her..."but watcha can you do? but watcha can you do?"
Amen, Nona....Amen.

Project 365

I mentioned a few posts earlier about a project I started this year. You take a picture a day and journal just a few lines to go with the picture. It basically gives you a glimpse at your life for a year and helps you keep track of things you may not normally scrapbook about. So far, I've done pretty good and the boys actually are the ones helping me stay on top of it. Here's a few pix.

Here's an example of one day of the journaling I did in January:

Monday:

Long Story Short:

1. Hunt plays basketball in driveway

2. Puts his phone on the back of the Honda

3. Mama drives the Honda to town.

4. Hunt calls mama looking for the phone.

5. Mama gets mad.

6. Daddy drives around all night looking for phone.

7. Twins see phone next morning on the side of the road on way to school.

8. Phone is alive.

9. Hunt is alive.

This is probably the longest journaling I've done on any one day. Some days it's about the weather, some days it's about what we had for dinner. Just every day stuff!

2 For 2!

ICE Day 2! The boys were going stir crazy so they went outside almost the entire morning so I ran up to my scrapbook room and made the most of it!

ONLY after taking a few shots of my fav subjects............. :)

I started this page a long time ago and didn't like it, so I just added some

embellishments and I'm "ok" with it now...

I did a double page spread of my nieces and nephew. So cute!
More of my nephew....

I've got all of the boys school papers separated, just not much of it scrapbooked. I'm trying to keep it simple so I can get it done. I have a bunch of Hunt's papers from his literacy journal last year. This is one that he wrote entitled "I am" where he wrote a bunch of characteristics about himself. I love it!

Snow Day!

More like Ice Day!
The boys had a blast just hanging out and I
got to scrapbook! Here is a peak at a few of my pages. .....

I'll try to get my 365 scrapbook updated tomorrow and add some pix!!

Bah Humbug!

What a way to start the new year! Tuesday afternoon I was feeling a little under the weather and by Tuesday night I was in bed with a head cold/sinus/whatever yuckiness! I ended up missing Wed and Thursday at work and when I thought I felt better Friday morning, went back to bed by noon! I think I'm on the mend now, still a little tired, but feeling like myself. I did start a new project this week - Project 365. Basically, it's taking a picture every day of the year, journaling just a little bit about it and by the end of the year having an album about the everyday aspects of my families life. I was set back a little by being sick, but I've caught up and hoping to step up to the challenge!
