Fa La La!

It's 1 week before Christmas! The boys are finally out of school and I'm 99% done with my shopping so I'm hoping that this next week will be a relaxing one spending time with family, "wrapping" things up, and finishing some projects. Speaking of.....I found directions how to make these super cute candles - purchased plain candles at the dollar store and added the images with an embossing heater - so cool!! If I would have thought of it sooner, these would have made great teachers' gifts.....maybe next year!

Show Us Your Life - Fall Decorations

Kelly's Korner is hosting Show Us Your Life - Fall Decor this week so I had to get in on it! I love to decorate for fall, but I usually don't make it until Thanksgiving before I start getting Christmas decor out. This is the first year the top of my fridge has something on it besides paper plates and lunch boxes! I saw someone else do this, so I thought I'd try it.

This is a close up of the picture that is on top of the fridge - my Nona and Grandpa making spaghetti in their kitchen many years ago - my mom and brother are watching in the background. One of favorite pictures. This is a ceramic pumpkin that a dear friend of mine gave me, it's actually to be used as a punch bowl, but she couldn't find the pumpkin mugs that went with it, so I put it on my dining room table. This is a table in my entry way with some pumpkins I picked up at Target. I have collected quite a bit of fall stuff ove the years so this is only a small peek!On the front porch I have some fake mums (I'm not good with flower arrangements as you can see!) with a little nod to the Razorbacks. My twin boys put this scarecrow together and decorated the remainder of the porch - I think they did a great job!

Happy Fall Y'all!!

Football Frenzy

My husband scored some tickets this past weekend to the Kansas Chiefs game - they were playing the Raiders, who happen to be my husbands favorite team so him and the boys went to their first NFL game. Growing up in Denver we had season tickets to the Broncos games so I was interested in going unless the Orange Crush was making an appearance!! This was Darren McFadden's game winning touchdown - shout out to the HOGS! Nice head in the picture.

See...no orange....not for me......

My men.

Wearing risky attire in Chiefs territory....

Lots of memories for the boys with their daddy! Even though it was the 4th football game they had either watched or played in during a 4 day period!!

Babies R Us.....

Oh I love babies! One of my closest friends had a baby this year and it was the perfect opportunity for us....um......how do I say it............."older gals" to give a baby shower! I've been out of pocket for a while! Anyway, it was a rainy Tuesday night, we had all ready postponed it once because baby Berkley came WAY early.........so I was a little worried about the turnout. It was such a great evening! Tons of people came and I know that every one of them had prayed for Baby Berkley's health and well being after arriving so early, so it was exciting for my friend to see all the support and prayers that have been coming her way! God is Good!!

The Decor:
We went with the colors of her room which are zebra print with hot pink - so fun for a girl with all boys!! This is a banner I made with her name.

See the lamp I found at Hobby Lobby - $7.00 - oh yeah! I couldn't find pink gumballs around here so I ordered some off of ebay!!

My friend and fellow hostess made this adorable bouquet full of onesies, booties, and goodies that she turned into roses - so clever! We asked everyone to take a note card and write a few words to Berkley that could go in her scrapbook. We kept the food to the good stuff - sugar! Cake, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered pretzels and two types of punches - Yummy! The guest of honor with her mama, grandma, and sister!
The Hostesses - so fun!

My BFF's!Look at all of the girl stuff!

Catch up!!

Okay! I know I'm a little late updating the remainder of our week at children's camp. Am I just now recovering 4 weeks later? Yes! It was an amazing week and as always - God delivered! It was great to see all the kids respond to Brother Jarrod's message and grow in their own walk with Christ and we also saw some who came to know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior! Totally worth the lack of sleep and hard work!!

Wednesday was "nerd" day - yes that is my son!
Thursday night was the finale of "camp idol" so much fun!

Wednesday we took the kids on a hike and they had bible study down at the creek - it was a pleasantly cool day - perfect for the hike!
Thursday was camp t-shirt day so we all wore our tshirts and took a group picture.
This is Candy and I with our staffers - these are kids from the church that are in high school and we work them HARD all week - they set up/tear down/clean up/and anything else they are asked to do, and they all did it with such a sweet spirit - their parents would have been so proud!!

I got so close to them during the week that after we got home from camp I made them each a little scrapbook with some pictures of the week. The staffers also performed DAILY skits that were SO funny - they kids loved them and so did all the adults. Here are a few pictures of the scrapbooks I made them. There were 8 of them so I was busy!!

I made them out of chipboard and used paper and embellishments I all ready had - yes I have a LOT of stash!
I put their initial on the front of each book.
They were a lot of work, but I enjoyed doing them and I think they really liked them~

So right now I'm working on a few projects, including a baby shower for one of my closest friends - and she had a GIRL so it will be fun, but in the meantime this is pretty much what our family is doing night and day.......................

It's fun, but whoa! Lots of laundry, driving around and there needs to be a 24 hour rotation of food going on for these hungry boys! Later!
